Mini Biography

Matthew was born in a rural town in Pennsylvania to father Joseph and mother Donna. He is the middle brother of 3, Andrew the youngest and Joe the oldest. At age 3 his mother started to bring him into NY city with her and his older brother Joe. They would go often for singing and dancing lessons as well as commercial auditions. Matty, known to family/friends, naturally wanted to get into the entertainment industry like his older brother and developed a passion for the arts. At age 4 he booked 2 national commercials and was on his way. Finally after many years of commuting, he and his family moved out to Los Angeles. This is where he attended high school and then USC. He excelled in biology and the sciences. All the while working as an actor. He now resides in a suburb of Los Angeles.

Trivia

He has a special love for animals and hopes to someday become a zoologist.

Used to play the electric guitar in a friend's band.

Matt is a good singer and has appeared on "Brotherly Love" (1995) singing "Silent Night". He has a vocal coach that trains his brother Joey and Clint Black also.

Middle brother of actors Joseph Lawrence and Andrew Lawrence.

If he could live in a cartoon for 24 hours, he would pick _"Tom and Jerry"(1940).

Is good friends with former "Boy Meets World" (1993) co-star Ben Savage.

Was engaged to Heidi Mueller from December 2004 - March 2006.
