Drake Bell: I “Shattered My Wrist” And Will “Never Play Guitar Again”
Drake Bell says he shattered his wrist and will be unable to play guitar ever again. The actor-musician announced the news on his Twitter page on Sunday, and shared a picture of the injury. See below.

Bell has been known to pull a few pranks in the past, but he seemed quite serious about this. “Shattered my wrist and the way it was broken doc says I’ll never play guitar and my wrist will never be the same,” he tweeted, along with several guitar emojis. He added, “Goodbye my best friend.”

In another post Bell wrote, “Doctors say I’ll never play guitar again. It’s over,” with a crying emoticon. A fan shared a photo and quote from the new Stephen Hawking biopic, The Theory of Everything, showing actor Eddie Redmayne as Hawking despondently examining his wrist in the bathtub, with the line, “There should be no boundaries to human endeavor. However bad life may seem, while there is life, there is hope.” Bell replied with another crying emoji, and wrote, “Seems fitting. Looks like me right now.”

Bell released his third studio album, Ready, Steady, Go!, last April. It peaked at 182 on the Billboard 200 chart, and at 50 on the Rock Albums chart. The record was produced by Brian Setzer, who is also featured on two of the tracks. Some of the songs were covers, including Billy Joel’s “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” and Queen’s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” Bell played both acoustic and electric guitar for the album.

Bell seemed to have been throwing himself almost completely into music over the last two years. Voiceover work aside, his last on-screen, non-animated acting appearance was several years ago. See the photo Bell shared of his injury below.
