Frankie Muniz on stroke: I'm happy to be alive
Frankie Muniz is truly celebrating life as he turns 27 today.

The former "Malcolm in the Middle" star is recovering from a "mini-stroke" he had last Friday, and he told "Good Morning America" Wednesday that he's still trying to understand the health scare.

Muniz told the ABC morning show that he was riding his motorcycle around Phoenix on Friday when he lost vision in one eye and felt his body go numb.

A visit to the hospital revealed that Muniz had suffered a "mini-stroke," "which was not fun at all," he tweeted Tuesday. "Have to start taking care of my body!"

At the time, Muniz remembered recognizing that "Something wasn't right, I knew I did not feel right. I couldn't say words, and I thought I was saying them, and my fianceƩ was looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language."

The actor, who now plays drums with the band Kingsfoil, thought a stressful lifestyle might have been a factor.

"I've literally to this day, never had a sip of alcohol in my life. I've never had any drugs, I've never even smoked a cigarette," Muniz said. Although he feels like he's recovered mentally, physically he's still healing.

"I can't get a deep breath in," he told "GMA." "I'm still trying to make sense of it, but happy that I'm alive."
