Born in Calgary to a truck driver, Joel, and librarian, Gail, Durance grew up with an older brother and sister on a turkey farm in Three Hills, Alberta. After school, she moved to Vancouver to start her acting career, which has primarily included low-budget horror films and guest roles on sci-fi TV shows.
