He unsuccessfully auditioned for the 2nd season of the reality show "I Wanna Be a Soap Star." Then within that year, he was cast as Luke on "As the World Turns".

Attending high school at Walnut Hill, a performing arts boarding school located in Natick, Massachusetts.
Born in North Adams, Massachusetts, he moved to Greenfield in the third grade when his mother became a principal in the Gill-Montague Regional School District.
Van's first feature length film "Occupant" premiered on October 14, 2011 at the Gotham Screen International Film Festival in New York City.
